around this house...

Scooby Doo waiting to be worn tonight...

FYI- Lincoln is not Kim Kardashian with the outfit changes.  I thought it would be too cold to wear his Batman costume, so I talked him into wearing an old Halloween costume from my moms for tonight. ( I may have to add his cape)

10.27.12

Hazel turned 5 months on the 24th. SLOW DOWN TIME! She has grown soo much during this last month! She's practically a woman.  She has started to hold things. Her favorite being her wee toes. I absolutely  love watching her grab them, I could watch her for hours. Well.. actually probably just lots of minutes.  She can also grab her toys. But, she FREAKS out if she cannot get the toy in her mouth. She just isn't that coordinated yet. For awhile I found myself not giving her toys because I knew she was just going to work herself into a tizzy! Don't worry ( cause I know you are) I've worked through it (with the help of the good ol hubby) and I'm back to giving her toys to hold.  She loves taking baths and swinging outside. She is finally loving enjoying her baby swing... I'm sort of forcing her to love it.  I wish I could say she is loving Lincoln. He mostly just annoys her, oh how the tables will soon turn. I cannot wait until she is old enough and they have actual sibling interaction instead of Lincoln just sitting on/pulling/squeezing her. Love you baby girl!

10.24.2012

Yesterday we took the kiddos to a "Healthy Halloween".  A local hospital and the KC Chiefs put it on for children with diabetes that cannot eat halloween candy. It was at the Chiefs Stadium and the kids had a blast. There were random activities, but Lincoln mostly just ran around. He fell in LOVE with spooky halloween music. Or "smooky nusic".

Lincoln wanted to be "datman" for halloween, so I went ahead and made Hazel "datgurl".  I did not want to buy a store bought costume, but I knew I did not have time to make one. So, I just pieced together some things and made some felt arm and leg bands.  He looks like a raggedy batman, but I loved it. It was a little frustrating that he would not keep his mask on, but oh well!  My favorite part about his outfit was his constant little wedgie the entire night. Or as Lincoln says " Mom, I gotta a sweaty." I have yet to correct him. :)

10.20.12

So... I decided to start a family blog. I've debated it for quite some time now.  I have horrible spelling and not so hot at writing, but I do have the cutest kids in the freaking whole wide world ( I may be just a wee bit bias) This is a perfect way for me to remember how cute and fun they are as we grow older.  Also, a great reminder of how cute and fun they are when I want to bang my head against a brick wall. Just kidding....or not?

Do not judge my writing skills, or else....dun dun dun. (scary music)

Today we took the kids to the pumpkin patch. It was kind of bittersweet because we normally go with my BFF's family, but they up and moved to Chicago. (How rude!) The weather was perfect! It was Hazel's first time and she didn't cry so I'm guessing that she loved it. I made one parenting mistake while we were there. I let Lincoln make a Smore BEFORE we went and picked out pumpkins. He was a sticky mess and could have cared less about anything except for eating his smore. Which happen to take him the entire time we were there.  I practically had to beg him to pick out a pumpkin. While doing so, he was not paying attention (stupid smore) and tripped over a pumpkin. I was just waiting for him to start crying...but he stood up, dusted himself off, straight up kicked that pumpkin and walked away. I probably should have thrown in a "Lincoln, we don't kick pumpkins." But, it took everything in me to not start laughing.  Overall, we  had a great time! Now you can look at a million pictures of it. :)

Look at that leg and pointed toes! Future dancer?!

ps. When you see in my Yankees hat it means I did not sleep last night due to a certain cutie patootie.
 AKA I look like crap.
